Vicky Flaig, MEd, RD

CAMP DIRECTOR

Vicky is a University of California, Davis alumni with a BS in Dietetics. After graduation in 1994, she did a two-year stint as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. She was employed at Camp Ronald McDonald for the 1996, 1997, and 1998 camping seasons as the Food Service Manager. During the winters of those years, Vicky was a substitute teacher for Lassen High School and in January of 1998; she received her own classroom.

Vicky left Camp and Lassen High School in September of 1998 to complete a post-graduate dietetic internship at the University Affiliated Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disorders at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. During her 15 months in Cincinnati, she received extensive Interdisciplinary Leadership Training in the field of Developmental Disorders through the Maternal Child and Health Bureau and the Administration on Developmental Disabilities. Vicky worked in UACCDD's nutritional diagnostic and clinical services specializing in Early Intervention, Cerebral Palsy, Myelomeningocele, PDD, Autism, and Down Syndrome. During this time period, she also earned her Master's in Nutritional Education with a thesis that specialized in Alternative Anthropometric Segmental Measurements.

In 2000, she returned to Camp Ronald McDonald in the role of Camp Director and since has had the time of her life!
