Job Description


General Responsibility:

To keep the Camp Ronald McDonald's facilities and grounds clean and sanitized.

Qualifications:
  • Desire to work in the Maintenance, Janitorial, and Food Service Area.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to accept supervision.
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Possess previous janitorial experience.
  • Organized and task oriented.
  • Exhibit the ability to place the needs of the campers and the camp above their own.
  • Be a team player and relate positively to all staff, volunteers and campers.
  • Have good health, vitality and physical stamina.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of all buildings.
  • Follow cleaning procedures and schedule.
  • Consistently strive to maintain a clean and attractive facility.
  • Reports any building damage to the Camp Director.
  • Perform deep cleaning of facilities on a regular basis.
  • Pick up trash from garbage cans around camp as required.
  • Attend and participate in pre-camp meetings and pre-camp preparation work.
  • Train and supervise volunteers and those assigned to assist you.
  • Enforce camp rules consistently.
  • Rotate camp responsibilities in conjunction with other Program Specialists and kitchen staff under the direction of the Camp Director and Program Director including meal supervision, twilight activities, campfires, closing ceremonies and special events.
  • Assume all other duties and assignments deemed appropriate by the Camp Director or Cooks.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • The physical ability to use a mop, broom and other cleaning tools.
  • Stamina to stand and work 4-6 hours straight.
  • Physical strength to lift buckets of water, chemicals, and inventory.
  • Ability to assess visually the cleanliness of the grounds and buildings.

  • Achieve the goals and objectives of camp, in the lives of campers and in your own personal life, by operating clean and sanitary facilities.
  • Make a positive affect on the life of each camper you come into contact with and strive to provide each camper with a fun and rewarding camp experience.
Reports to: Camp Director
Salary: This position will be compensated with housing, meals, and a stipend of $800/month.
Dates of Service: May 1 – September 30, 2008
